On August 6, 2016, Niantic released the much awaited Pokemon Go in the Philippines as well as 15 new countries and regions across Asia and Oceania. We can now officially download Pokémon GO from the Play Store or App Store.
The countries which got the release includes Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.
Filipino Pokemon fans have been excited since last year when news came out that Pokemon GO is in development, what more now that it has been officially released. Now the social media is now flooded with rant post, pictures and personal video clips from every Pokemon Go fans sharing their experience.
Trainers have been spotted stopping everywhere: in the side street, parks and even in malls checking their phone and searching for Pokemon. One stop that travelers from the north side of Luzon where people go searching and walking throughout the edges of every corner just to catch one.
